FINALLY!!!!...
I go to work like every morning for a week ... on foot, I do not have a car .... through the way that separates me from the gate and, like every morning, try to find the positive side of the day and keep in mind that there are things to do ...
Given the inconclusive search of the house I intend to call the agency with which I dealt with the price of rent and asked if my proposal was accepted and, of course, continue to search ...
I do it again ... strength and call, the person who answers me is very understanding and patient ... He said that the proposal has been accepted and that if I want to move the home from the market I have to pay immediately, without thinking, £200 ....
And without thinking I say that from there to an hour (bus permitting) I would be there to pay this sum grant ...
I can not miss this unique opportunity! ... Ask my manager if I can get out immediately ... and I dashed to the bus stop hoping for a miracle!
The day is beautiful, the sun finally ... after so much rain ... arrival at the agency and, as agreed, to money ... starting a long and exhausting negotiations ...
The person I talk to ... a blonde middle-aged fat woman begins to fill me with information, I speak of the references, the Landlord's bank account ... I do not understand anything ... then I have a breath and ask her to start again from the beginning!!
1) I will be contacted by a company that will ask me to fill out a form on the internet and check the information that will insert, this is the so-called reference check.
2) I will have to pay a deposit account equal to one month plus £200 which will be blocked at an appropriate entity and returned at the end of the lease which could be 6 months or a year.
3) I will, again, to prepay 6 months of rent because I do not have an English bank account (not yet) .... but we're kidding?? ... How do I pay for 6 months in advance ... . wonder then that it is reduced to 3 ... I think they can do ...
4) The landlord must decide whether the points 1, 2 and 3 are sufficient, then I will give the accommodation...
I start to get nervous .... the house is filthy and old, I paid almost 300€ non-refundable and must still be monitored and give more money??
I also was dictating my conditions:
1) The house must be completely clean from top to bottom with a very thorough cleaning for the carpet.
2) They must be removed all the old and useless furnitures, moved the bed, the closet and take out the curtains.
3) They must, absolutely, get something good to close the front door that seems to be the door of a hotel room ....
4) They assure me that the heater does not kill me at night .... and a crack on the wall shelter.
My list seems to upset the responsible agency, but eventually tells me that will do the possible and not to worry.
We leave with the promise that the house would be available for the next Monday and I should just call them on Monday to take the final appointment, where they will hand me the keys.
After a moment of indecision, fixed, however, a new appointment on weekdays to see the house cleaning done and the final details (I'm Italian: never trust too much) and I leave with a big smile ....
Finally something that looks like going the right way!!
